“Harry Potter” series by J.K Rowling is the most recent example where Hogwarts uniforms have become a staple for cosplay events and Halloween costumes and even in mainstream fashion.
The iconic Gryffindor scarf, Harry’s round glasses and even Hermione’s time turner necklace are just a few examples of the influence the book had on fashion.
Platform 9 ¾ inspired clothing and accessories were so popular along with the iconic symbol appearing on everything from t-shirts to jewellery.
The Wizarding World made its way into London Fashion Week when Ryan Lo, a famous designer created a Harry Potter inspired collection.

Margaret Atwood’s The Handmaid’s Tale has inspired trends that highlight the oppressive society depicted in that book. Red robes and white bonnets, worn by the Handmaid’s in the the book, have been seen at protests and rallies.
These clothing items have become symbols of resistance against oppressive regimes and have been incorporated into feminist fashion.

The book’s influence can also be seen in the world of jewellery, with designers creating rings ( remember the times when we were all gothic with the thumb rings?) I’m sure the millennials remember that embarrassing time clearly. Well not to diverge the jewellery was created inspired by “The Rings of Power” and other iconic objects from the book.

One of the most significant literary inspirations in fashion history is “Alice In Wonderland” by Lewis Carroll. The whimsical and fantastical nature of the story has been reflected in fashion since the book’s publication in 1865.
From the playing cards suits to the Mad Hatter’s hat, the book has inspired countless fashion designs trends and accessories.
Designers such as Kate Spade and Betsy Johnson have created entire collections inspired by the books eccentric characters and fantastical world.

Long wooden coats with fur trimmed hoods and cuffs have become a staple for winter fashion, and had been seen since on the runways of designers such as Burberry and Michael Kors.
