Note Illustrated Classics is made up of several individual books and each one of them tells a classic tale, these tales includes: - The Adventures of Robin Hood: Series One or Series Two by Howard Pyle - Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens - Moby Dick by Herman Melville - Black Beauty by Anna Sewell - Around the world in eighty days by Jules Verne ..etc., Each of these books are retold by Jenny J. Hunter, Margaret Fraser and Alexander Swaby in no particular order. Summary: Moby Dick Ishmael, a schoolmaster drawn to the sea, tells a story of obsession for revenge. We meet Queequeg, Tashtego and Daggoo, the three harpooners, and the mates and crew of Pequod serving under Captain Ahab who is determined on revenge on the great white whale, Moby Dick. The whaling life is hard and dangerous for death is always present as we follow the men of the Pequod on their hunting. But Captain Ahab seeks only Moby Dick, the whale who seems to know and understand those who hunt him. Oliver Twist After a wretched childhood spent in the care of parish workhouses, the poor starving orphan boy, Oliver Twist, runs away to London when he is barely twelve years old. There, he falls into the hands of Fagin, the leader of a gang of thieves and housebreakers. Eventually befriended by Mr Brownlow, a victim of the gang, Oliver discovers his true identity and gains a loving family and his rightful inheritance. Black Beauty Grazing peacefully at his mother's side in the cool, green meadow, the handsome, young colt, Black Beauty, could never have imagined the events that were to take place as he grew older. Black Beauty tells his own story...a story of kind and gentle masters who loved him well and others who were cruel and uncaring. We learn about life in the country and in the city and of things that happened to Black Beauty and his friends.
